There are currently three main methods for installing wood veneer wall panels: nailing, dry hanging, and adhesive bonding.

1. Nailing Installation

The biggest drawback of nailing installation is the need to fill nail holes, making standardized installation impossible. The installation quality heavily depends on the skill and work ethic of the workers and painters. Additionally, an air compressor and power supply are required at the work site; otherwise, construction is impossible. Several years after installation, the nail hole repair layer may peel off, or the panels may warp due to loose nails.

2. Dry Hanging Method

Also known as the air-hanging method. This method uses metal hangers to directly suspend the veneer from the wall or onto a steel frame, without the need for adhesive bonding. The principle is to establish main load-bearing points on the main structure and fix the panels to the building using metal hangers, forming a wood decorative wall surface.

3. Adhesive Bonding Method

Compared to the dry hanging method. The most common method, adhesive bonding, is used in the later stages of renovation. After the floor is completed, decorative panels are installed on the base layer using glue and mounting strips (the base layer has already been prepared and leveled by the on-site renovation workers in the early stages of renovation). Dry-hanging requires necessary vertical adjustments during panel installation, thus slowing down the process. This is especially problematic when time is tight. Using adhesive bonding avoids the hassle of future repairs and rework, and also minimizes the risk of damage to the decorative panels caused by various stages of the renovation process.
