What is a wet wall panel system?
A wet wall panel system is a complete waterproof surface package designed to replace tile-and-grout in shower cubicles, wet rooms and communal washrooms. The system has three engineered parts:
- The panel itself - a 1000 mm wide, 10 mm thick PVC sheet with a hollow core, faced with a decorative film and sealed with a UV-cured 2H+ topcoat.
- The joint - a machined tongue-and-groove edge that locks adjacent panels together mechanically, so water cannot bridge from face to substrate.
- The trim system - matching PVC internal corner, external corner, end cap, H-joint and floor upstand profiles, silicone-bedded at all junctions.
Together these three parts remove every cementitious grout line from the shower plane. Fitted by a two-person crew in 90-120 minutes per 4 sqm cubicle, versus 8-12 hours (over 2 days for grout cure) for a tiled equivalent.

What each warranty actually covers. Extension to 30-year written cover: +GBP 2.50 per sqm on FOB, for housing-association spec projects.
Our warranty is 15 years on core structural performance (water absorption, delamination, joint integrity) and 5 years on decorative film UV colour-fastness. Bottom line: In practical use, a 15-year commercial warranty and a lifetime warranty cover similar failure modes because bathroom panels are rarely kept beyond 15 years in a commercial fit-out cycle. If your end client's spec sheet mandates a 30-year written warranty (some housing associations do), tell us in the RFQ - we can quote a paid warranty extension at £2.50 per sqm added to the FOB price.
Installation - over existing tile or fresh substrate
Full crew install time for a standard 4 sqm shower cubicle: 90-120 minutes for two fitters. No tile-cutter, no grout float, no wet saw needed.
Step 1 - Prep the substrate
Wall must be dry, flat within plus-minus 3 mm across 2 m, and free of dust or loose paint. Existing ceramic tiles can stay in place - degrease with sugar soap, key the surface with 80-grit sandpaper, then wipe clean. Do not remove old tiles just for a panel over-fit; the panel handles the level difference.
Step 2 - Measure and cut
Panels cut with a utility knife (score-and-snap) or a fine-tooth jigsaw blade. Always cut with the decorative face up. Allow a 3-5 mm expansion gap at floor and ceiling - the trim covers it. For pipe cut-outs, use a hole-saw one size larger than the pipe diameter.
Step 3 - Apply adhesive
Use solvent-free hybrid polymer adhesive (MS polymer, e.g. Sika-Bond T-2 or equivalent). Apply a 6 mm zigzag bead around the panel perimeter and three vertical beads down the middle. Coverage: one 290 ml cartridge per 2.4 sqm. Do not use silicone as a bonding adhesive - it will not hold the panel long-term.
Step 4 - Lock the joint
Start from a corner. Set the first panel plumb, groove-side facing the wall corner. Press the next panel's tongue into the groove of the fixed panel at a 20-degree angle, then rotate flat. A tight fit needs a firm hand-push - do not hammer.
Step 5 - Finish with trim
Use matching PVC trim: internal corner, external corner, end cap, H-joint. Seal trim-to-panel and trim-to-substrate junctions with sanitary-grade neutral-cure silicone. Do not silicone the tongue-and-groove joints themselves - the mechanical lock is the waterproofing.

Yes. This is why UK hotel refurbishment specifiers choose panels over re-tiling: the crew avoids the labour cost, dust, and skip-hire fees of a full strip-out. The substrate must be sound (no drummy tiles), degreased with sugar soap, and lightly abraded with 80-grit. Panels finish approximately 12-14 mm proud of the original tile face, usually inside the shower tray upstand. On the Glasgow social housing project (142 bathrooms), a 2-person team averaged 4 bathrooms per day with this method.
What is the container capacity and can I mix finishes in one order? +
A 40ft high-cube carries 4,800-5,400 sqm depending on finish mix (mirror-gloss loads slightly less due to corner-protection foam).
