Tiles or panels. On the same wall, the difference is not the material.

Tiles or panels. On the same wall, the difference is not the material. It
is where the days go.

1. Prep.
Tiling needs a surface that will take adhesive and stay flat while it sets.
Panelling needs a surface that is sound and flat. One of those tolerates
less than the other.

2. One trade instead of three.
Tiles: fix, grout, then seal - and it is not always the same person doing
all three. Panels: the person who carries them in can finish the wall.

3. Waiting.
Adhesive and grout set on their own clock, and the room is not usable until
they do. Panels are dry-fitted and finished the day they go on.

4. The cost of getting it wrong.
Taking a tile off means taking part of the wall with it, plus the spare you
kept back for exactly that. Taking a panel off is one panel.

5. Getting back in.
Everything behind a tiled wall is sealed behind it. Everything behind a
panel wall is one panel away - which matters the first time a valve needs
changing.

Where tiles still win: anywhere that gets abused. A floor, a worktop, the
spot a trolley hits. We are not going to pretend otherwise.

Same wall. Two different schedules. Which one you want depends on what the
room is for.

Choosing between the two for a project? DM "TILE" with the room and we will
tell you honestly which way we would go.
