What You're Buying
A sheet comes off our MDF line. 27mm wide slats. 13mm gap of black felt showing between them. 9mm of PET backing holding it together. One sheet weighs about 12kg. Standard size is 2400 x 600 x 21mm.
The MDF is E0-grade. 700-800 kg/m³ density. The surface is real wood veneer - oak, walnut, ash, teak. Not printed. Not laminated. We bond it in our own facility, not at a third-party workshop.
When a fitter opens the carton on site, they get four sheets. Each one PE-wrapped.
CE certified under EN 13986:2004+A1:2015. Certificate SC-PSC-4-2026-06-53. Issued by an EU notified body.
When It Goes Wrong
The most common failure isn't the panel. It's the substrate.
We've seen jobs where the fitter glued sheets directly onto fresh plaster. The moisture in the plaster wicked into the MDF slats. Within three weeks, the veneer started lifting at the edges. The gaps closed up because the MDF swelled. The whole wall had to come down.
Another job: a specifier ordered 300 sheets for an office fit-out. They didn't check the wall flatness. The 60cm wide sheets bridged a 4mm dip in the stud wall. When the afternoon sun hit, the thermal expansion popped three sheets off the adhesive in one corner.
How to avoid this:
- Acclimatise the sheets. 48 hours minimum in the room they're going up in. Stack them flat, not on edge.
- Check the substrate. Walls must be flat within 2mm over 2 metres. If they're not, batten first.
- Use the right adhesive. Solvent-free hybrid polymer. One cartridge per 2.4 sqm. Vertical beads, 200-250mm spacing.
- Leave a 5mm expansion gap at floor and ceiling. Cover it with trim.
Tell your fitter these four things. It'll save you a callback.
